Unlock Sprint 6800 to verizon

Haven't been on here in a LONG time.. used to rock a samsung i760.. stopped using that a long while ago.. once i stopped using it.. i stopped getting on here!!

anyways, i actually work for att now.. and the other day came across a sprint ppc6800 in one of our drawers at work that no one has any idea where it came from.. so the boss is letting me have at it...

although i work for att i still have my vzw line as well. so i was wanting to try to unlock the phone.. just not sure on how to go about it or what i need.. i did a search on here but only found a post about flashing for cricket...

any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

thanks!!!

Re: Unlock Sprint 6800 to verizon

You can't legally get a sprint 6800 on verizon. Verizon won't accept the esn number.

thats not %100 true , i just unlocked and activated a sprint tp on verizons network two days ago!! u just tell them its from alltel is was one of the first tps and that u need the paperwork for a alltel esn to be activated!!
so far i have done 4 tps , a 6700, and 1 6900 all were sprint phones!! it takes like 3day to a week for the esn to be added!! plus u might not get someone the can do it on ur first time u just got to keep calling !!

So do you know how to unlock them???

also, does logging in to your vzw acct and "changing" your equipment not work with unlocked phones??

Re: Unlock Sprint 6800 to verizon

Dude unlocked means you just can flash a custom or stock rom from a different provider than the phone was manufactured for. You can't just add the esn online. Verizon system will not recognize the sprint esn and will say sorry try again. Verizon has a database of every verizon phone and esn. Since your sprint esn is not on that list, that is the problem. You can try to go through the process of getting them to add it to there database but it is hit or miss on getting it to work. This is not like a gsm phone and doing a unlock and adding a sim card works. CDMA does not work easy at all to add other providers phones.

Well, again.. I wasn't sure therefore I asked... The model number inside the phone isn't labeled as just a "ppc6800" which i believe is sprints model number... it also says "XV6800" which again i believe is verizons model number.. I'm no dummy, and am pretty tech savvy.. BUT i have never tried to unlock or flash a phone and it's been awhile since i've used a WM device...

Doesn't hurt to try! I still would like some info on how to set it up so that IF I can get them to add the phone, it will work on their network.. (i do know quite a few people who work for verizon so.. )

So anyone who can point me in the right direction will be greatly appreciated!!!

THANKS AGAIN!

yeah u dont have to spl unlock the device to work on verizon all u need is the esn added to the database and activated!! just keep calling stating that u have a alltel 6800 and need the paperwork filled out to add a esn!! lower level reps will not know about it only tier 2 or tier 3!! if u find someone low that knows u are very lucky!! now u will need the espt setting to be input for a verizon phone!! u can get that info from another verizon phone and just copy from one device to another value by value(this is just so the phone will see verizons servers ,towers, and understand who it is activated by!!
