Enabling external BT GPS for MOgul?

im currently running googlemaps for my mogul and they said their a way to enable gps to lock on location

The steps I followed were...

Go into Settings>Connections>Bluetooth and add a new device.
It found the GPS and I selected Serial Com Part and hit Next.
Then I went to the Com Ports tab and selected the new GPS device and selected COM4 for it.

Next I went into >Settings>System>GPS and set the Program COM Port to COM6 and the GPS Hardware COM Port to COM4.

When I setup Google Maps, I've tried selecting COM6 or COM4, and also just let it do it automatically via Windows, and they all end in the same result. I may try to load my old copy of Mapopolis to see if it will work. quouted from this link

http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/ppc-6...gps-mogul.html

and i cant even get that to work

anyone else have this problem or solution?

MOST of those ports are use or reserved for other shit...
Do this...

In BT settings-

Set GPS com port to: COM5

In GPS settings -
set program port to: COM3
and hardware port to: COM5 @ 115200

Hope that helps...

Also, google maps rocks, but you can either have directions or track your location, not at the same time, but you can switch back and forth instantly...
Id try Mapquest's app as that can do live tracking and turn by turn directions with VOICE... I have that on my old bb, dunno if there is a windows mobile
version, since i use tomtom...

You need to look at the pairing instructions for your specific GPS device. It may have a special way to set it in pairing mode then you will have to enter a key usually 0000 to pair it on the mogul.
