The orange LED is on steady until it gets a GPS lock. Once it has a GPS lock it flashes about every second.

Therein lies my problem. The orange LED has never blinked. I live in a 30 story building and took the unit to the roof and sat outside for 30 minutes trying to get it to connect, but to no avail. I guess I have a faulty unit and need to send it back.

Thats a strait BT GPS issue, with your specific receiver... OR something is interfering with your bt signal (almost impossible)

Sorry i cant help... its such a phone, device and app specific error that it can happen for a million reasons
