Randomly started working this weekend. Works with TomTom 6 like a charm!!!

I have an M-1200 as well (this thing rocks, BTW. Small, stays on my keychain and works great EVEN IN MY POCKET!). After I paired it, I set up a new outgoing port under COM Ports in the Bluetooth settings. Once that was done, I went into the external GPS settings and use the software port to 0 and the hardware port to com5.

Now when I use TomTom, I have to tell it to use comm 5 but all other programs, like Google maps, use comm 0.

Btw, I haven't been able to find ANY comm ports that are "reserved" by default. There is nothing that could reserve them.

Where are you seeing an option in TomTom to tell it which port to use? After I select "Other Bluetooth GPS receiver" as my GPS receiver (I have a Holux m-1200) and I hit continue on the "Please establish a Bluetooth connection..." screen, I get a screen that says:

GPS is connected to:

COM3:
Virtual COM9:
RIL on COM6:
COM7:
7500 IRDA
COM2:

Am I supposed to be able to select a different port (Port 5?) on this page? If so, how?

Forget about my question above - I got it figured out. This is awesome! I wish we had internal GPS but this is a damn good alternative
