Verizon 6700's out of stock!

I don't know if it means that the 6800 is about to arrive at your local Verizon store (or web site) but when I checked out the VerizonWireless site this morning, hoping to see a 6800 on it, I saw that the 6700 is now listed as out of stock.

Let's hope this is the beginning of them putting the 6800 in stock!

I am looking forward to it as it is now my "new every two" and this will be my first phone of this kind. (I've had the same phone for 3 years now and, while it has been reliable...all it does is make phone calls. LOL )

I actually handled a demo 6800 at a VZW kiosk at BJ's in Old Bridge, NJ this past Friday night! The rep told me the drop is "any day now". A little freaky seeing the slider reversed, but probably easy to get used to. Blue front bezel, textured rubberized back.

BTW, there's also a Samsung WM6 slider, which I fondled as well. Phone keys on the front, with sliding keyboard goodness. Keys were small and tightly packed.

AAAH this is killing me. Can't decide between the two.
Did you notice the screen brightness of both?

That i760 looks terrible to me. The location of the Send and End buttons looks really bad - I can see myself accidentally hang up on people constantly. The only thing it has over the 6800 is the external dial pad.

I just dropped by the large Verizon store here in Charlotte on South Blvd. They do not have the 6800 yet, but also do not have any 6700's left. They said it would be out in the VZ stores between now and October 15. So...not long left to wait!

I hope the price doesn't get jacked up to $399.00
