Thanks for the offer scottishwarrior, but if we have the rom upgrade file we don't need to do the pdocread work. When we have that we can just extract it from there.

Scottishwarrior - if you could upload the contents of your extrom to the ftp that would be great.

I linked my WM6 extrom a few posts up, is that what you need? Or are you talking the WM5 extrom?

Exclamation New Alltel HTC PPC member and phone user...

Could someone advise if the Active Sync provides a tutorial on backing up all of my information? I've installed some 3rd party applications which I don't want to lose as well as my contacts, etc. Afraid of losing my information here. Love the site by the way. You all rock! I take it my local Alltel branch cannot perform the ROM update themselves. Any further advise, insight, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance...

You cannot backup 3rd party apps through AS unless you are using a 3rd party software like Sprite Backup, or Spb Backup on the device itself.

However, it is not recommended to restore a full backup after updating a ROM since there may be conflicts. This happened to some Sprint users.

You can use AS to backup contacts, appointments, etc. and then re-install 3rd party apps.

Thumbs up Gracias...

Thanks for the 411! I contacted Alltel Tech Support and they advised me to hold off until the actual release was on their website under the phone specs. What is the difference between the current download and the actual Alltel release (if any)? Appreciate you all...=D>
