Performance Degradation Issues on my Mogul 6800

For a good four or five months, the used VZW Mogul I purchased worked fairly well on Crickets CDMA network. A few weeks ago, I started experience serious response issues. Programs wouldn't launch, or would become unresponsive after a few minutes, then the device would just become sluggish to the point of near freezing, even though certain touch buttons (like the close window "x") would run the toggle animation. However, I'd get no response for minutes, if at all. Soft resets would sort of fix the problem, for perhaps half an hour. Hard resets would fix the problem for what seemed a little longer (perhaps an hour or so), but I could be mistaken.
Thinking perhaps my ROM was getting bit rot from all the programs I had installed and uninstalled on the device (I'm sort of a n00b and tinkered with the device endlessly when I got it), I flashed to Ryan Mogul's "heavy" Cricket Rom. Not liking the all the customisations "heavy" version ran, I switched to the "light" version. Satisfied with the more bare bones nature of the "light" version, I started restoring my back-ups and reinstalling my basic productivity tools. The phone restored contacts and programs fine from the SD card, but would freeze when installing programs from my PC (Resco Photo Pro, SPB shell 3.01, and a few others). After hard resetting the phone on these installation freezes, the phone would crash and stick at boot up, not moving past the HTC screen, or sometimes hanging on the ROM initialisation screen. Eventually, I got the configuration right, and left the house with the device. The device worked fine for 2 days and then started exhibiting the same symptoms first described. Performance degrading to the point of un-usability. Finally, hard resetting the device, it hung at the HTC screen right before ROM initialisation. As it stands, it seems that reflashing the ROM returns full functionality to the device, but the performance degrades and the phone hangs.

Anyone ever have this problem and find a solution?

Apologies for the overly long description, but the symptoms were fairly specific and I couldn't find anywhere else this had been documented.

M.

Re: Performance Degradation Issues on my Mogul 6800

Insanely massive facepalm here, guys. I had a conflicting ROM on my SD cards.

Wow.

Just... wow.

Sorry.

Mods, feel free to delete this thread.
