Here's a checklist to get you started:
1. Add Picture Messaging to the line that your 6700 is on. 2. Make sure your MMS composer is version 3.0.6.24. (Which if you installed Helmi_C's WM6, it should be) 3. Have somebody send you a picture message, and it should go into your MMS inbox, and show who it's from, and the size of the message. But it will not download the image. When you get this far, reply, and let me know. And I'll send you what you need, to try and finish this. Thanks in advance.... -Lennysh |

Step 1 and 2 are done. I can receive pictures directly to the handheld in a super-tiny 1" square. Video is sent to the Alltel axcessmypix website. I cannot send any type of MMS. (6700 w/ WM6)

Picture success (sending and receiving) in full size/quality on my PPC 6700 running Helmi_C's stock WM6 ROM. I used CeRegEdit to import the settings. It took approx. 2-3 minutes for a sent MMS to reach my wife's Motorola E815, but for some reason it takes all messages a while to reach that phone, so who knows. Receiving messages happen in 5-10 seconds of them being sent to my 6700.
Video sent to my 6700 ends up at axcessmypix, aswell as video sent from my 6700. Would I be too greedy to say I want full MMS video instead of using this damn website? lennysh has made it super easy to do. Import .reg file, soft reset, boom -- done. Be sure to back up your registry once you get it all working and save that baby in a vault Last edited by Richard Ward; 09-18-2007 at 04:57 PM. |

hello all, I have alltel and use a 6700. I've upgraded to wm6 since helmi put it out. I'm new to the whole mms thing but I really need it to work. Please bare with me on this but can someone please direct me in how to do all of this from start to finish. For example in reading this post I saw something about domain and server info, how do I get to that screen. How do I pull up arcsoft mms composer, it's supposed to be on here but I don't see anything like that on my phone. Under the registry editor I do see all of the files listed in this post though. Please baby-walk me through it all step-by-step

As far as incoming video, I'm still looking into that. It appears as if this must be an Alltel related issue because they are the one's that are sending you that axcessmypix message. The program might tell the server what it can and cannot support receiving. So there could be a registry setting to change what it tell's the server it supports since those settings are still set for Verizon settings. I'll go through my 6800 registry dumps to see what is different when it comes to file formats. You just have to remember, the server we are using, to my knowledge, is not the default server for anything on the Alltel network for sending Pics/Vids. Just about every phone they got goes through mms.alltel.com which doesn't seem to work on the 6700 with the 3.0.6.24. So this issue may not be resolved until we can start using that server with the gateway, since it's supposed to be the real thing on the 6800. Question though, the video that was sent to you, was it from a regular phone? Just a note, I have successfully sent a video from my 6700 to an Alltel Moto Razr. When you go to camera, goto your camera settings. Using the video file format 3GPP2 is what is giving you the text message from Alltel, but the one's I can send are in MP4 format, and they work fine. In camera settings, you can not set the MMS Video to MP4, so you'll have to use the regular camera. I'm going to play with the settings. Set your regular camera at Medium capture size, MPEG-4, and a record limitation of 250KB. This should get it as good as you can at the moment to send the regular video as your MMS video. And don't use the actual MMS video until we can either get the arcsoft off of the 6800, or some internal settings changed/modified. I would love for someone with a 6800 to post the camera settings for their MMS video so I'll have something to go by. After you record, and save your video with those settings, then manually go to your MMS inbox, and create new video message, and then find, and add your video. Should work just fine, I just did it, and it work's 100% for me. When I figure out how to change the MMS camera settings to what we need, I'll get it added to the existing Settings Cab install. If it's possible with this Arcsoft. Post your video results!! Last edited by lennysh; 09-19-2007 at 07:43 AM. Reason: Changed Info |
