will erasing Data Connect (#777) allow me to send MMS with out connecting to internet

i wanted to ask a questions but did not know how to create a post , so some of your post and have wm6.1 light rom that you created .. but i wanted to see if you would be able to answer the following question for me .

I wanted to be able to send MMS but did not wanted to have DATA plan cause all i use is WiFi and for the stuff i use the internet for is all i need. Now i been wanting to be able to send/receive MMS but again you need a Data plan for it , well i have it block, but wanted to see if i was to unblock the Data access but if i also deleted the Dial #777 (EV) connection in my phone (XV6800---Verizon), would i still be able to send/receive MMS and at the same time avoid connecting to the internet throught the verizon network, but only throught WiFi.

hope you understand my question.

thanks in advance!

Nope, I tried that hoping for the same result. I doesn't work. I still don't know how to get around that. I can send sms just fine, but using mms always tries to connect to #777 which is a pain. I just don't use mms now.

MMS is considered data that's why you can't get around it.

Re: will erasing Data Connect (#777) allow me to send MMS with out connecting to inte

What is sad is that a normal non PPC phone does not consider it as data. For example, I had the Verizon EnV. I also had paid for unlimited text and pix/flix messaging. All I was charged for was the unlimited fee. I then got my titan and kept the unlimited massaging plan. My bill would show that I sent MMS and have no charge there, but under data it would charge for the kb I used to send it.

I think that is a crime, but they get away with it. So someone with no texting plan will get double charged.

Actually you should talk to them. Even though it does dial up a connection they shouldn't charge use since it is picture message data. They can reverse the data charge.
