I was eventually going to get around to calling Alltel. I just thought that there might be a few here who would share some information regarding how they are accessing and what they were subscribed to if they have Alltel, but either no one wanted to share info, or no one who read OP has Alltel.
Anyway, after calling Alltel and speaking with TWO different CSRs, for anyone who cares, here is the info I obtained:
BYOP (smart); NO data plan is required. Unless you are in contract with discounted phone, then Smart Choice plan is required for smart phones.
Inet access is free to the limit of your minute pool; no data plan required. I inquired about Kb charges, and TWO different CSRs stated there is none; only if you download, say a ringtone, etc., will you be charged, but access and simple browsing is at no cost.
Does anyone have any different information or proof of what they are into Alltel for when accessing Internet? I'd like to hear what plans others have or are paying. But I don't think that two different CSRs would tell me the same thing if it weren't true.
