You could use ClearTemp. It's a nice free program to clean up your phone, and that include a 'Recent Programs' option... Do a search on the forums, or on google and you should find it...

If you use Wisbar Advance 2 with the cascading start menu, I believe you can turn off displaying recently used apps.
