Drew, I tried to run the ROM update like you said in the bootloader screen and the update dumped me becuase it couldn't connect to the device via USB. I'm not sure why I can't connect to Mobile Device Center or anything else for that matter. Any suggestions??

Then install one of the two radio I suggested and the phone should boot assuming nothing else is messed up with the rom. This might allow you to retrieve your info.

You shouldn't get a usb error when running the ROM update from your sd card. Are you still trying to do this through USB? If so, try updating from your sd card. Also, I would suggest having your phone plugged into a power outlet to ensure it does not die half way through.

The phone won't charge while in bootloader and installing a rom. You have to have the battery charged to 100% before you start.

drew - I did nothing, the device first started to show incoming calls and voicemails only when I would come out of standby mode, even if the calls were hours before. Then, it died...gave me the red light of death when charging and would not fully boot as mentioned previously. I am not familiar with updates and new ROMs and new "radio' and whatever else you can do to it. I use the device for work only.

Follow my instructions to flash by sd in post 8. Remember to rename correctly and card must be 2gb or under.

Also you may have a hardware failure if you got to this point without you doing any flashing.

I guess I have to buy a mirco-sd adapter first, huh? Also, after installing the radio on the sd card, I just put it into the device and reboot bootloader with a fresh batter??

Yes you have to put the file on the sd somehow. After booting into bootloader it will read the image if named correctly and prompt you to install.

If you want to flash and loss your data you could try the rom again. This will work if you can put the phone into bootloader and plug into usb and the bottom of the bootloader screen says usb.

drew - the bottom of the bootloader did say USB when I tried to update the ROM, however it was still unable to connect to the device. Should I be able to connect to Mobile Device Center in bootloader?
