Contacts removed

Hello all,

I am new to the PPC arena, and I apologize if the answer is obvious.
I have loaded personal contacts into my work machine's Outlook. I would like to synch them over to my Mogul, remove them from Outlook. Then disable the synching of contacts.

I can synch the contacts from Outlook to my PPC no problem. The problem occurs when I tell active synch to no longer synch contacts. I receive a warning box that proceeding will remove my contacts. Sure enough, every time, it does.

Can you please help?

Thanks,

Jobe

Mods/Admin, Sorry about requiring the post to be moved, I thought the issue was PPC-centric rather than device.

Thanks,

Jobe

Try this

1. Sync your contacts with Outlook.
2. Delete your partnership in A/S (File - Delete Mobile Device).

This will enable that your contacts will not sync again. However, you will also lose the ability to sync anything else in Outlook...

Jamesus,

i gave that a try, but it had similar results, however, I never got an error message, the contacts were auto-removed when I made the new partnership.

Long story short, I just synched them over from outlook, used NS Contacts to back them up local to the PDA, turned contact synching off. Lost all my contacts, then used NS Contacts to restore them back to the device from the local backup.

Thanks,

Jobe

That works too. Wonder why Outlook would delete all of the contacts after you sync. Maybe the option to have the desktop overwrite the PPC is why.
