gmail send/reciecve question

i have my gmailcom set to pop set up. my questions is my phone sends and recieves perfectly fine but things i send from my gmail account come up as new mail and i check for new mail.

so basically if i compose a email and send it it sends. but when i got to check my email later it shows up as a new message also.

is there an option i am forgetting to change? my account it setup with the recentxxxxgmail ...

anyone else have this?
