Re: Can someone bring me up to speed?
I have both a 6800 and a 6900. The 6900 is cooler and does more, but both ui's lag a little so I use the 6800. If you go up to the TD or TP the UI's don't lag and it's a great phone. Heard bad things about the instinct. Bad setup, doesn't teather, ect. All winmo phones will have someone who cooks roms for them. This forum is the right place to look. Personally I won't do it because there are plenty of people who have bricked their phone that way, but to get the most out of your phone you have to cook it. From what I've read the NueRoms are the best. Good luck.

Re: Can someone bring me up to speed?
Yeah, I used to do it all the time, till the center of my TS died... I just finished cooking a new rom. I flashed roms all the time to keep the phone running smooth. Never had an issue. Was playing this stupid lil sand game that came in one of the roms... It was pretty interesting for a bunch of dots lol... but then it started screwing up. So I went to re do the alignment on the Touch screen, and the center wouldn't work at all. Phone has been in peices ever since.
I have a question that knows anything about the roms... I guess there is the buildos stuff for this phone... So when I go into it, and select cricket, will that flash the phone to the cricket network, or do I still have to go in and flash the phone to work on the cricket network and WAP.... and then setup a rom? Or will the entire rom do that? Cause I thought the Cricket/alltel/sprint/verizon settings were in the radio or something like that. Can someone reflect light on this. lol I'm taking a crash course back into what I used to do in 07. Table83, The two phones... Which one is your fav and why... I like the 6900 because of the full touch screen and the Touch software... Its like an IPhone. But I love the 6800 because of the full keyboard. I can get both phones for 100-200 bucks on craigslist. |

Re: Can someone bring me up to speed?
Build OS is really a nice program. I have it, and have just never used it. I understand that it will flash it to the cricket rom. I'm not sure what it takes to get the cricket network to recognize the phone. I'm assuming that you need to clone a cricket ESN onto the phone. Thats not that hard either. There are plenty of guru's here that will know what to do. Search the forum and you will sooner or later get lucky.
I much prefer the 6800 because of the keyboard. I don't like my 6900 for that reason. If you are saying that you want to not ahvea keyboard then go with 6900. You can download the newest keyboards from the TDiamond and it works beautifully with the t9. I just like to hammer our text with a keyboard. It works better for me. Personal preference. |

Re: Can someone bring me up to speed?
Oh no. You don't have to do that. I know its easy to flash the radio to cricket. Just didn't know if the roms did that if you select Cricket for the network. Its been soo long.
My 6700 was flashed on cricket before I started with the roms. |

Re: Can someone bring me up to speed?
Now the proud owner of a 6800 from Sprint. Never Flashed. A few scuffs here and there. But came with an extended battery, stock battery. Stereo Headset, original box and everything it came with, for 150 bucks.
Just gotta update the Kitchen and burn myself a rom. I really hope that will do the flashing from Sprint to Cricket. If not, I'll still setup the rom and flash it and burn the rom and then go from there. |
