Re: How do I figure out what type of files can be saved on my memory card
I am talking about apps. It appears as though some apps dont work unless installed on the phone or so I hear. Like for instance, the HTC home customizer apparently has to be installed on the phone and cant be installed on the memory card. I am only curious as I am trying to conserve as much memory as possible obviously
Sorry my initial question was worded wrong. So my question really is, without just installing it on the memory card to figure it out is their anyway of telling wether or not an app or program will work if saved on the memory card instead of the rom? Or is it just pretty much a guessing game? Thanks again! Last edited by twilk; 03-29-2009 at 08:14 PM. |

Re: How do I figure out what type of files can be saved on my memory card
Kind of a simple rule of thumb to use...if the app needs to be accessed on startup, such as the HTC Home Customizer, Weather Panel, Mobile Shell,or any other Today plugin, then it must be installed to your device memory. Otherwise, install to your card.

Re: How do I figure out what type of files can be saved on my memory card
Thank you very much.
Once I heard the HHC needed to be installed on the device I figured that any start up app would have to be installed on the device. Initialy I was hoping the device could use start up apps from the card but now as I am writing this its not making any sense that a start up app would work from a card without some sort of start up redirecting file on the car or something like that. |
