This would be a good idea, If anyone could make this it would be helpful.

Also does anyone know why I would be having issues getting the above program to work? It just doesnt make the light turn on. Any help would be awesome.

I am not sure how you could "mess up" a LED (light emitting diode) as it is a diode and doesn't have a filament like a light bulb does. In my past experience with LED flashlights, the switch breaks, or the contacts for the battery break long before the LED burns out, as I understand it, even if we left our phones plugged in, and the LED on full time, the phone would either wear out, or become obsolete before the LED burns out, as the expected lifespan for an LED is aprox. 100,000 hours, before losing up to 20% of its brightness, longer to lose more and they die by simply getting dimmer over time, not becoming nonfunctional, rather too dim to see. IS there something about the LED in the mogul I don't know about, that makes it sensitive or weak?

Greg,

Try PLamp
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/s.php?querywords=plamp

I have used this on my i730 and now my XV6800. Love it for your exact reasons.

Bill

Yes sorry, this is a manual install. No PC/exe or CAB install.

Just drag the exe to some folder on the PDA. I create a Utils folder under "Program Files", \My Device\Program Files\Utils\ . Then I create a shortcut from the pLamp.exe file to \Windows\Start Menu\Programs\ . The pLamp utility then shows up in the normal "Today - Start - Programs" location.

Hope this helps.

Re: FLASHLIGHT APP 2.0 Nilisco and WoW (7/21)

I don't know about messing with the LCD. LED's normally dont burn out and I would rather damage that than possibility of damaging my screen. Plus the LED is going to be way brighter than a white screen. I use Nilisco flash light and mapped my right soft button for it. You can also map it to any of the hard buttons. Easy on...easy off.

Pretty much sums up this thread. I don't know HOW many times I've been able to light my way with this bright LED at the push and hold of the record audio button.
