Perfect, thanks. I didn't know you could restore apps and settings on a new ROM. I'm using the SPB mobile shell now so I'll check out their backup solution.

No problem. Just be sure when you restore, do NOT restore your previous registry settings, as there will be a conflict between the old registry settings and new. The ROM Upgrade Mode in SPB will prevent this

I advise the same thing, but I'm going to add a little more.

A lot of applications store their settings in the registry. Not restoring the registry will most likely cause several applications to act like they were installed for the first time.

I recommend installing a registry editor and backing up any application settings that you might want to keep.

But here is what I am saying, you have a SMS threaded app on your device and it is restricting you to only 10 SMS at a time. There is no general phone setting to unrestrict this as it isnt the device restricting you but rather the app you are using. Do you understand what I am saying?

So in order to change it you would have to rewrite whatever lines of code of the app to allow more. The only other option you have is to use another SMS threader or upgrade as others have said. Im sry posts and threads dont allow facial features to be seen and Im sry you took my first post the wrong way so i will add a smiley for you.

But seriously, you dont have any other options that i can see. Yes flashing the device will wipe everything clean but you need to do with any at least 2x a year just like PC HDDs. Simply write down all the apps you use, use PIMBackup to backup your contacts and so forth. Upgrade to 6.1 and reload the apps and then restore with PIMBackup. It isnt hard or cumbersome and once you get used to it you will do it more than you think.
