soft key presses itself?

so got my replacement xv6800 from asurion the other day, came brand new. loaded it up with roms and whatnot. one hardware problem, the soft key on the keyboard in the upper right will sometimes wildly press itself when the phone is closed and sometimes when keyboard is out to....like ill be typing a text and bam the menu pops up and interrupts my typing cause the damn button pressed itself. and when its closed if i tap the screen to hard it will also press this soft button. my question is.......should i take this into the verizon store and attempt getting a replacement.....and if i do....will i have to downgrade this rom to the stock verizon one before i do that? do you need to downgrade the radio to a non GPS as well? or should i just live with the malfunction and press on? thanks

Re: soft key presses itself?

This definitely sounds like a hardware issue. I would have them replace it. Return the radio and ROM to stock before returning, and relock

Re: soft key presses itself?

I had this happen to me after receiving my first mogul replacement, i had the calendar button randomly press itself.. two days after getting my replacement. so i went to sprint and they gave me a brand new in box mogul with all the accessories free, on the spot

Re: soft key presses itself?

It is a hardware issue as others have said and you do need to see about getting it replaced as it will only aggravate you more in the future.
