Yes u need Total Commander.. just browse to the file and tap the file with the stylus till u get a menu.. then tic properties.. and you will be able to uncheck the read only status.

On a side note been working on these a user asked if i could add the ahead :P to orignal animation i did earlier in my thread over at SU..

v8 splash

OK so anybody have any ideas how this splash screen is put together?
welcomehead.96.png windows mobile, the image size is 320 x 320 and I can't find it in the registry.

OH and Total Commander does _NOT_ work for me. like the guy above, nothing I check (of which is already "marked read only/system/rom" will save any changes I make. maybe I'm missing some prerequisite..

:::EDIT:::

Got it. Copied welcomehead.96.png to laptop, edited and copied to My Documents on the mogul. Using totalcommander to copied the file to the windows folder and it successfully overwrote the file. Also changed the size to 240 x 320. worked great.

Here is a Sprint startup animation that I did as well. I didn't notice the nice one that wamu93 did until after I did this one! I basically just grayscaled the default Sprint animation, removed the TM and C symbols from the logos, removed the "Together with Nextel" text, and then ran the animation forward and reversed. It's a white logo on a dark gray background. Looks pretty nice with the HTC Touch theme, dialer, and conn manager!

Here is an edit of my previous dark gray Sprint splash screen. It adds a bit of color in the form of a progress bar. Obviously I think it looks pretty good. I added in the progress bar because I noticed a gap between the end of my animation and the beginning of the Windows Mobile splash screen. This works well on my Mogul.
