good thought and it did work. I didn't have a 320x320 image, but I had one that was greater than 320 pixels in legnth and width and it fit the screen both ways, but the picture looked pixely even though it was a large hi-res image. it just looked clipped.
any ideas on 2 backgrounds though? i'd have to be a regedit, I assume. |

The way I understand it to be there is no way to do this, the picture used as the background is used in both views and just expands horizontally and vertically in each view. Like drawing a horizontal cross over the picture. The vertical and horizontal access can be adjusted to show different parts of the picture but both views draw from the same file.

thanks for the info. not the answer I wanted, but that's ok. would anyone be willing to make a theme with two different background images and upload here? i'll test it to see what happens.

Yes, you can do this. At least for the Apache you can. You will need to make use of the Default_stwater320x240.gif and Default_stwater240x320.gif. Let me look more into this, but it is possible. Also, check out the link for the dude who created the transformers theme. I believe it has different backgrounds for portrait and landscape.

and colonel, please let me know. I looked thru the registry and when I have a wallpaper set over a theme, it shows up in the registry as a string called wall and a link to the file. no string or anything for landscape. let me know TIA |
