Some new ideas

I noticed that even though I had not run Activesync, it was showing up in my running programs list at times for no reason...is there something that would turn it on automatically? Also, I had enabled rror reporting, so I disabled that....maybe that caused some usage? Any thoughts?

I have the same issue. My phone's battery will last only about 5 or 6 hours. All I have on is push email and EVDO. If I don't charge it in the early afternoon the battery will die out completely. This can't be normal, right?

Im having the same problem with mine and its 5 days old. I have nothing but activesync running, which i need to have to check my email. Surely that cant be reason enough for the battery to last less than a day. I'm not even making more than 1 or 2 short calls on it, and reading a few emails. I love this phone but if this is normal behavior I can't live with it.

Im feeling yall's pain. Ive had it for about a week now and the battery life is horrible. I keep my Mogul charged at work which lasts untill 5. I use it for music for about 2 hours afterwards while I workout then 20 min. for music in my car. By that time, the battery is already down to 50% which I find greatly unacceptable.

When I first got the phone, I let it fully charge for 8 hours before ever using it. I thought that would condition it properly but obviously it didn't help.

do you guys think this is something I could get taken care of in the store? Im sure I have a bad battery. Just to test I have the phone charged 100% and am going to bed. the screen is off, only activesync is running. we'll see what its at after 7 hours of idle with the screen off the entire time.

My battery life is pretty bad too. It's actually just as bad as my Sidekick was, which is weird, because it shouldn't be.

My battery life has been terrible. Today the battery died at 2:30 PM.

I took it off the charger at 6:00 AM this morning when i woke up.

I run activesync against my Exchange 2007 server all day and still have about 60% at the end of the day. It's not great, but its not that bad either. If I am in a lower signal area, that number does drop since battery drainage is greater when the signal is low.

One thing to make sure is that if you are running your own exchange server, make sure your port 443 (SSL) isn't set to timeout too quickly. If it does, your battery will drain faster and your push mail can be delayed.
