Always out of memory

So I've had my Alltel 6800 for a couple of weeks. Its my first smartphone but everytime I play a song in Windows Media Player it says out of memory. I also installed Opera Browser on it but its always running into that out of memory problem too. So is IE but not so much. I bought used so I guess it has a lot of programs on it already. Since my phone is on prepaid and I only use Wi-Fi, I mine as well unistall the Opera Browser now lol...so how would I do that? And how can stop the memory problems so I can play songs. BTW, I have a 4GB stick.

Re: Always out of memory

To unistall the browser open settings>system>remove programs, select the opera file and click remove. For the memory issue, if you have the x button (task manager on home screen in upper right corner) click that then the wrench for settings. go to the button tab and set it to close programs when x is clicked. 6800's dont have much memory at all so if you arent closing programs fully it will run out of ram fast. If all programs are closed and you still have the problem I would suggest backing it up and doing a hard reset. I never had an issue like that when I had a mogul.

Re: Always out of memory

You also might want to try a program like SKTools or MemMaid to clean up the memory. When I had my Mogul and used one of those the first time, I freed up about 10 Megs.

Re: Always out of memory

And just to clarify, you have a PPC and not a Smartphone. There is a difference. I also use MemMaid and Skyfire as my browser. I use Resco as my memory manager

Re: Always out of memory

Flashing a custom rom, especially no2chem's rom can give you more memory.
