Activesync driving me crazy

Activesync cannot connect to the windows mobile powered device. to troubleshoot the problem, click OK.

after a random sequence of reinstalling activesync, removing th e partnership, rebooting my pc and mogul it will sometimes work.. but when i plug my phone in nothing happens.

yeah i just tried it three times...

usually it works one of the times.. nothing as of now.

update: nope it looks like its done.. ive uninstalled/rebooted reinstalled/rebooted 5 times now and it will say connecting, spinning the logo (as it will on the phone) and i get the error mentioned in my first post..

edit2: figured it out.. must have something to do with my usb setup.. its a 30 foot run but its got a powered hub in the middle... shouldnt matter but it apparently does.
