I'm in tethering heaven, thanks to everyone here. Not sure why I waited so long to try this. I did the multi-NAI change and connect via bluetooth most of the time. I get the dreaded error 67 occasionally if I forget to click disconnect before actually disconnecting. Sometimes I get into a rapid-fire loop of sorts where the mogul is making multiple attempts to re-establish a data connection (and popping up mulitple error 67 notifications) so fast and repetitively that I can't seem to click disconnect quick enough. (probably resulting from the registry change to make EVDO always on). In any case, I've always been able to stop the onslaught of error 67s within 3 or 4 trys.
One issue I've noticed is the speed difference on bluetooth vs USB. After noticing some sluggishness, I ran several bandwidth tests today. I typically get ~650/120 on USB (same as the mogul by itself), but I'm only getting ~300/100 on bluetooth. Feels like dial-up. There's a fair amount of variability, but I ran enough tests to see a pretty clear pattern. Is this to be expected with bluetooth? Is this a continuation of the BT issues with this device? Is there perhaps some MTU/RWIN settings that would help optimize the tethering connection? Thanks again for all the info here! Great forum. |

Ive been having lots of problems the last few days with this. Was working fine, then suddenly I cant use it anymore. Keeps giving me the error 67. Then after it does that, it wont even let the phone itself connect to the web, and finally requried a full hard reset before IOTA would reprovision the service.

Just downloaded PDAnet 1.80 here: http://www.junefabrics.com/pdanet/
Up and running in 2 minutes after download. Works perfectly, on it right now. No tweaks needed. 2.4 Mbps it says -Ryan Last edited by wood; 09-29-2007 at 11:07 AM. |
