My refurb. phone came in today. And I just found out the backlight on the keyboard doesn't work. That was Mogul #4. I going to the store in the morning demanding a new phone, NO REFURB!!!:protest:

i wish i had speed and ram. but im doomed by sprint to have another refurb mogul instead of a TP. i bought a ppc6700 in 2004 for 400$ with 5$ a month wear and tear insurence. i got upgraded to the mogul for free last september. after the first 3 6700s and now my 4th mogul (3rd refurb) im thinking i should just get an iphone or G1. Accelerometers are so damn cool

My brother accidently "brick" (stuck on first screen) his mogul and took it to the Sprint store for repairs. Their tech guy couldn't fix it or didn't know how to fix it, so they replaced his mogul for a TP. I figured I'd try the same. So I took my mogul and "brick" it on purpose hoping to get a free replacement. I told them I tried everything even a hard reset and it still wouldn’t get pass the first screen. They couldn't fix it. Instead they told me I had corrosion problem and that I'd have to call Asurion. I called Asurion and they're expressing me a TP. How sweet is that?

I had a problem with my mogul and took it to the sprint and they dont even have the 6800s on display and they gave me a refurb. What is this advanced exchange for a touch pro I hear about? Would they give it to you for free with an insurance claim, or what is going on?

The sweet part is that you didn't get it from Sprint for free... Karma, I guess. Intentionally bricking your phone to try to get a free upgrade? Too bad it's not past the 19th of April yet. People like you should have to pay out the nose for replacements.:disgust:

Yeah, Karma is a b-itch. Good thing I only paid $50 bucks for a TP, considering the mogul is a piece of crap that someone gave me and I just activated it for a day to do the free upgrade. Now I get to keep a handy working Mogul for parts plus my original Touch as a backup AND a TP. Karma is gonna bite me in the *** one day. People like me don't mind.

PS: It's not bricked. I fixed it. The Sprint tech guys didn't know how to fix it i guess.

To answer the question in the thread they are still giving out refurbished Moguls. I wonder myself if people that get upgraded are in contract or not/good customers/high priced plans/ etc. Don't know... I called today because I was having issues with the refurbished phone I got a couple months ago and I was getting tired of the issues so I called for a replacement and they guy told ME that they are sending me another refurbished and if this one doesn't work out THEN I will get a "new" phone.

Hmmm, I can see how you'd think that there was preference given to certain profiles, but I kind of think it's more left up to the luck of the draw. I've been quoted "3 tries, then we can upgrade you", but when it came down to it, I only had to get one refurb (which had the same problem as my original one) before they gave me an upgrade.
