Re: new to all of this
if it charges but does not sync up try a hard reset. Hold both of the white circle buttons down and press the stylis into the reset hole.
It will ask you to confirm the hard reset. Follow on screen instructions let the device reset and boot back into windows mobile. Calibrate the screen enter any info it asks. let the device custimize it will reboot and now once back into windows mobile try and sync it up with windows. You need to have active sync 4.5 installed on an xp machine or windows mobile device center for vista or later. It should see the deivice and start installing th drivers. If not its not that big of a deal u can still use it for everything else just use a memory card and a reader. u can dl and install cabs that way. Use dot fred pim backup to save and restore your contacts. good luck and welcome to the scene |

Re: new to all of this
If you have any of your data on there, back it up before performing the hard reset in post 2. A good program is DotFred's PIMBackup. You can keep it on your SD card.

Re: new to all of this
If you haven't got it working yet, Start>Settings>Connections>USB to PC and make sure that you enable advanced network functionality. I run Vista and Mobile Device Center. I have had nightmares trying to sync if that isn't selected. The other question would be if you know what ROM you are running. Is it a stock ROM or a custom ROM like the 1000's on this site?
