A large collection of movies, maps, music in one place. No switching during an all day drive.

Re: external hard drive
A 1.8 or 2.5 external is small enough to slip in a pocket or mount under a dash. Possibly over a hundred gig. Power aux from car. Simple usb connector. Car mount for Titan. Bluetooth gps. Sorry if my question isn't worth a serious reply. Laptop can be a pain in the butt. Sercurity risk while traveling. Left in car while backpacking and hiking. Heat over 130 degrees. Don't have a umpc which would be perfect. ($1800 or $1000, too expensive) Umpc not practical on non-gsm network so you can't switch phone. Data costs anyone. Movies ,music, gps, maps, data, programs, pictures, camcorder video (all storage hogs.) I thought you guys like to stretch the limit.

I'm not sure if it works or not, but I have heard of blutooth enabled hard drives...

This is an interesting question.
Perhaps not everyone on the forum thinks that it is a worthy endeavor-- hooking up an external HDD to the Titan In fact, I don't see myself doing it. However, I am driven to try everything possible with this little sucker so that I know the true capabilities of my device. All it would take to answer your question is to pop a hard drive into one of the external enclosures that I have lying around here. Then, hook up the external HDD's USB cable to an adapter in order to step down to mini-USB. Plug it into the Titan and see if the Titan recognizes it. I just installed USBModem tonight-- even though I'm very unlikely to ever need it. The point is: one day I may. If no one beats me to it, I may just try this in the next coupl'a few dayz... .

Thank you stevland.
I read somewhere else that the proprietary usb operates as a regular mini-usb connector. Is this true? Does it just recognize the audio device and change digitally? I'll be looking forward to hearing how your experiment went. Thanks again |
