Its not the UI thats the issue. For us VZW users it is the slower CPU, less RAM, locked GPS, more cost, ECT., when compared to the Sprint version

Correct me if I'm wrong, isn't it the mogul and xv6800 that are identical under the skin?

There are two major differences in the touch pro's - memory (288MB on Sprint vs. 192MB on verizon) and appearance (verizon's looks like something that was built from parts purchased from a Radio Shack in 1985).

Without going into more details, there is a huge thread in the touch pro forum about how to make the sprint version work on the verizon network. Now why would people go through all that trouble if they were identical?

for my area code, 55372, it doesn't even show the 6800 on the page. Last night it had the out of stock thing like some of you saw, but now its completely gone.

hopefully this means it is actually EOL, and I can go to the store and they will give me the TP

Same here - it's not even showing on my screen anymore. BTW... I got my asurion replacement yesterday and it was new (in box). So it might take a while for them to run out. Since I am out of contract I plan on switching to Alltel and selling this titan - their TP is much better and I will still be in the network.

I also no longer see the device available through VZW site but I am sure we will be getting replacements from Assurion for some time. As I said before, people are still getting 6700 replacements so what does that tell you? However, that is not to say it isnt possible to weasel your way into getting one.
