Did you rename each of your wav files in the registry?

i have 6 folders of slider sounds with the new sprint rom working just fine. the directions are a little unclear, but you can see the default registry values for each folder and just mimic what they did. it isnt all that hard to figure out.

right now i got the transformers sound as my slider. ;-)

Re: How to add your own slider sounds

i already managed to get some custom sounds in tehre under spots 3 and 4, but when i add 5, it doesn't show up in the list of available sounds?

UPDATE

okay, i'm a dummy
I had an extra space in one of my reg entries.
couldn't tell by just looking, but my spidey sense told me to try and edit it and then i saw it right away.

Re: How to add your own slider sounds

Here is how I do mine. None of (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > HTC > Sliding sound) editing stuff... Real simple her is how.

1.Make 2 files 2_in.1.wav and 2_out.1.wav and copy to storage device.

2.Go into the Windows directory in the phone locate 2_in.wav and 2_out.wav, copy and paste them to the storage device.

3.Save original _in and _out sounds to computer.

4.Now using your phone copy the 2_in.1.wav from the storage device and paste in the windows folder. Now Change the name to 2_in.wav, refresh the window under menu and you are done. Do the same thing for the out file. your custom slider is now under the xelophone file.

Background I have the new 3.35 Sprint Rom running

I still cant get the registry edit to work. I think it sticks but I don't see the new slider option in the dropdown settings.

Here is my reg edit. Does it look right?

Re: How to add your own slider sounds

almost...your in/out sounds value should be the same. Since your key is named '3', your sounds should be named 3_in.wav and 3_out.wav.

Re: How to add your own slider sounds

After you make the registry changes for slider sounds you should wait 30 seconds or so then soft-reset to see the changes take effect.

The sound files should be stored in the Windows folder. The files can have any name as long as the filenames in the registry-edits match.

This is a simple reg-edit, but like any reg-edit it has to be formatted exactly as the device wants it to be. Look at the existing keys to see the required format. If you get them right it will work. You can also replace the existing keys with any sounds you like, as long as the entries follow the required format. Good Luck
