I wonder if there is a way that would make a noob read all of the FAQ and stickies before they can post or make you enter the question in search first before you can post? If anything else make the search button stand out more or flashing a couple signs saying "Try this first!" with arrows to the search button.

Well, speaking as a newbie in here…this site is confusing as hell… I do FTA, so I belong to those forums and can find useful info there easily but in here…. it’s a mad house. When I do a search here (speaking as a newbie) you get like 50 answers to the same question. You get people jacking threads asking questions in the titan forms about touch phone. Then you have people straying from the original topic question and going off in a new direction… Then you have to worry about which information is the correct one…. Then you hear the guy a few post down saying my phone is messed up from what the guy in the posting above told him to do. It would be helpful if you could do how to guides in here like… tethering 101.... Wifi101..… Loading files 101… flashing for different carriers 101… Changing themes 101…. and don’t just put a link to another site and say “Oh I’m too lazy to copy and past the information on to this site”----- pure half azz… And please remember this…. most of us are not experts at this…. we just buy the phone and use it…. I don’t want to be spoon fed I just want the correct information… get rid of all the junk and useless information in threads.

Speaking as a one-time noob myself, I can say that at one time, I didn't know HOW to search. Well, ok I knew how to search google, etc, but more appropriately, I didn't know WHAT to search FOR when I was having a problem. So, when I posted a question that had already been covered, there were those that were kind enough to just direct me to existing threads that answered my question. I think what would be nice would be if a thread's OP had the ability to close, or at least flag for closure, their thread when they've had their question answered.

All you have to do is PM a mod and they will gladly close down a thread you opened if you ask.

I'm new so I cant tell what useful or not but i can tell there's alot of useless and misdirected information.. if you do a search on my threads all I wanted to know is theathering my phone but the information is so vas it's hard to pick out the correct information (gladly someone helped me a simply explained the internet sharing fix Vs wifi.. and what i need to do instead of doing a reg edit...

that link didnt have information on anything i mentioned in the above needs for 101's except for themes and that pretty much everywhere on this site... just take a look at the wiki link in the above and you will see what i mean

Searching is an acquired skill we all had to learn. Some just need to be reminded.

but what do you do when your search gives you 50different answers? Also not everyone can navigate this site as easly as some of you mods they are bumps and hills all over...
