Sprint Mogul text message has no ringtone setting! NOOOOOOOO

Wow. Why is it so hard to give you a Phone ringtone AND a Messaging ringtone, instead of a "device Sound". That means if I mute the sounds on my Mogul than my text messaging sound is muted I made a ringtone and set it as a "Text Messaging Notification Sound" so now whenever someone sends me a text message, I cant shut the sound off and reply. I have to wait untill the FULL "ringtone" is done playing. Not to mention I have my device sound set at "half" so now I can barely here the song when someone sends me a text. There has to be a way to hack into the Mogul and set the Text Messaging as a PHONE RINGTONE and not a DEVICE SOUND. Has anyone else noticed this problem?

I have no idea what you are saying. First off, why not put this in the Mogul/Titan forum.

Now, why are you confused about having the sound turned off and that it mutes the notifications? Isnt that the point of having the sound off? If your notification is to long, get a shorter one.

Why does it matter if it is a Device Sound or a Ringtone, they are just sound files? Just convert whatever sound you want into a workable format and be happy.

i know what he is saying. with other phones when your sound alert went off for any app once you acknowledged that there was an ex "text message" the sound would stop. what he is saying is that when he hits replythe "alert" for his text message still goes instead of stopping once he hits ok or reply. my phone does it too man and it IS annoying

Exactly. How long are your text notifications? Mine is 5-6 tones at the longest. That is my whole point, it you want somethign to be short and stop when you press a button or whatever, just use a standard notification sound.

Colonel I still think you are missing the point. He is also saying he does not want to use the stock sounds that come with the phone for text notifications. He would prefer to use one he created himself. The fact that with most phones once you acknowledge that you have a message the message stops has go to be annoying whether it is a long tone or not when it doesn't. The fact that it doesn't stop upon acknowledgement has to be annoying is what I think he is getting at. At least that is what I am gathering from what he is saying.
