way to save battery life

If you don't use data connection too much, you can turn it off *and* set the data to 1X only. In this way my mogul's stand-by time is more than 5 days.

Keep your bluetooth, IR, and Wi-fi off at all times unless in use. Keep your phone locked and on standby whenever you can. Make sure you stay in areas with good strong signals. Kill all background programs every time you put it in standby. Keep your phone on ringer rather than vibrate.

A good one to keep an eye on is ActiveSync. Seems to have a mind of it's own.

Activesync launches automatically when the rom first boots, but after you kill it once it should stay off as long as you don't connect to anything, including an exchange server.

depends on the rom and there are 3 notifications in every rom that will trigger repllog.exe (active sync), rs-232 (some cheap chargers), rndis, & time sync.
