Re: Flashing phone Norton Ghost style?

Drew...are you running backups at all? It isn't till you have to do a hard reset that you wish you had a backup.

Re: Flashing phone Norton Ghost style?

I currently use PIM backup. But I was just looking into a way to save all the program info. I am now looking into running UC to cut down on backup time.

I've used it several times to restore single files, as well as the entire phone. It even has a special "upgrade" mode, that enables you to upgrade the firmware of your phone, and still restore your backup (without touching the files changed by the firmware update).

As an HTC owner, you can get a special package that includes Sprite Terminator, which allows you to track (via GPS), lock down, or even wipe your phone (via SMS) should it be stolen. Both programs for $19.95. What a deal!

Here's a link.
I purchased the bundle - but does this backup feature do the same thing as the cloning software? I want to be able to flash my phone without having to do any registry edits, app install, skin mod, etc etc

I agree--
I'm just learning the ways of the kitchen and phone, and I've been working over 12 hours to perfect my phone... $20 is worth the time!! Couldn't get someone to do all this work for $20

Re: Flashing phone Norton Ghost style?

Does SPB backup restore registry entries? What about settings for each program like NueLED? Or do I need SPB clone.

Clone or backup creates a 'replica' of whatever you have on your device at the time of using backup or clone.

I can verify this: today I backed up after editing system settings and registry tweaks. After a hard reset, I restored (without even installing SPB on the device), and 5 minutes later it was just like it was.

Registry edits and system settings ARE saved in the Sprite Backup file!
