I believe you can reply fine, But there is no way to enter in a phone number, you have to pick a contact. Which isnt that big of a deal to me. But $15 more that the palm app, and all it really does is add photos that are to small to see.

well the reports are that the palmthreaded is working just fine on wm6 so unless this company can make the program work AT LEAST AS GOOD, then your right in there being no reason to pay 15 bux for it.

I am sticking with the palm app... i used it on my 6700 since it was able to be ported over.... and it is faster on the 6800 for me. Love it.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the OP means by "fuss". The app is easily findable, install CAB and it works perfect and all for the price of $0.

Has anyone installed the Textr app? I agree that not having tha ability to send texts to phone numbers is a deal breaker, but it looks promising as the palm app won't be developed any further.

Also, does it need to be run first to accept texts ala txtman?

Yeah... the hope is this will be developed into the app we have all wanted so badly for WM! I love the Palm one now... but this does show promise!

Because even if they do, they will the same they did when the community was working on the one available now... issue a cease and desist order to stop working on it becuase it's their intellectual property.

The Palm Threaded SMS App works completely on the Treo 750, because it was extracted from there.

Also, Palm was not the ones that developed the app for other WM phones. It was extracted like Pibe says by XDA and others (hannip).

i can't believe they're not going to work on the app to include on their own devices? :innocent:

in the mean time, i think i'll buy this app. palm's threader has always been buggy on my (refurbished, fwiw) 6700, closing many times after getting two letters into my reply. anyone had this issue with the palm app? and does txtman play nice with phone suite?

The Palm app works quite well on my 6800. I text a fair amount and it has been working just fine so far.
