I just damaged the usb port for the second time on a 6700, so my question is the usb port on the 6800 and more sturdy or mounted (glued) in place compared to the "floating" port on the 6700?
if so that alone may warrant an upgrade.

Anyone notice that the battery gets drained in increments of 10%? I have only seen my battery be at 50, 60, 70, 80%, etc... never at numbers like 67, 53... you get the idea? Anyone else notice this?

That's not unexpected... the PPC6700 worked the same way.

And it's not truly draining in 10% jumps, it's just that the system HTC uses to report status just doesn't have any higher resolution than that. So it most likely rounds up or down (e.g. 50 to 54=50, 55 to 59=60)

I'd hoped HTC would have improved that in the 1.5 years since the 6700 came out but oh well.

how's the performance overall? especially for those of you that have loaded a lot of apps. I know there was concern about the amount of RAM available out of the box, but it doesn't seem to be affecting performance from what I've been reading.

I'm still torn between getting a 700wx or the Mogul.

Today screen question

Every time i loaded a today screen either on my 6600 or my 6700 the friggin thing lagged and slowed down my phone.

I had tried using 3-4 different today screen prog's but each seemed to really slow down my phone.

Is the 6800 better in this regard? Any noticable slow down?

Thanks,

james

If I had to choose between buying a 700wx or a 6800, I'd probably go with the 6800. The real debate with me comes in that I already had a 700wx so is the 6800 $600 more worth it? That's my debate.

Not worth $600 IMO. I swapped my $199 Treo for it and am still undecided.

lol, yeah I was going to say what luv2chill did.

Would you believe the battery meter on the 700wx is a Palm custom job too? It's their own :P I love the 1% increments--talk about detail. It's those little things they do that make a difference.

OTOH, 10% isn't bad and you'll get used to it.

But, if you think 10% is bad, the Moto Q does 25% increments So you go from 100% to 75% quite shockingly.

The Q goes down in 25% increments on main screen but not in the power management screen.
