Also, how do I unprotect files in the /Windows directory so I can overwrite them? I know that question doesn't belong in this thread, but I'm sure it's related.
As far as the Registry editor, i am using PHM with a Sprint Branded 6800/Mogul and i use this cab so try it out it might work. To unlock the files in the windows directory i have to use a program like Total Commander to do all of that.

is there a way to change the size of the X (close) button on the top right side of the screen.
i use the one to make the scroll bars bigger and would love to make the x button big enough to close with my fat fingers

Re: Reg tweaks [07/15/2007 rev.2]

Is there a way to export the DNS settings on the Sprint PCS connection? I changed them to 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2 but they are stored as a multi reg entry and when I export the key normally (for use with UC) the values don't transfer over.

WARNING: Messing with the registry can cause unintended and permanent damage.

I have been using this tweak for some time now and it's a real gem if you're the type of person who likes everything on his/her SD card. I'm not quite sure how to explain this so if you try it and have a better explanation, please add your comments.

The Windows default "My Documents" location is on the device's main memory. When you choose to store or sync files to an SD card, Windows creates another My Documents folder and sub folders on the storage card. An example of this is when you set your camera to save pictures and videos to SD. The problem is that WM6's "My Documents" default location always remains on main memory when saving or opening files. This tweak basically makes everything go to or from the SD card by default, unless you choose a different location when saving or opening files.

There are two ways to change this, but first a word of caution. After this tweak you will no longer have a "Storage Card" location, it will be known as "My Documents" from now on. For example here is what a CAB install looks like:

For an example of advantages, Pictures & Videos (or any other application) opens straight to the SD card. Also notice my file explorer no longer shows a "Storage Card", it's actually the "My Documents" folder:

-------------------------------------------------

Tweak from a fresh rom install or hard reset (preferred method)

1. With file explorer copy everything under My Documents to your SD card.
2. If you already have a folder named My Documents on your SD card, merge all content in it with the folders you just copied from your main memory and delete it.
3. Backup your entire SD card on your PC's hard drive.
4. Backup the "My Documents" folder on your main memory to your PC's hard drive.
5. With a registry editor go to HKLM\System\StorageManager\Profiles\SDMemory and change the "Folder" key's value to "My Documents"

6. With file explorer delete the My Documents folder on your main memory.
7. Soft Reset

All applications will seamlessly default to "My Documents" which is now your storage card. There is one exception when you first start the camera. It will tell you a new storage card has been found and ask if you want to save pictures and videos to it. Select MAIN MEMORY, it will default to your storage card.

-------------------------------------------------

Tweak from an existing installation (more risky)

1. Configure all applications which allowed you to set file saving to the storage card (camera, email attachments etc) back to main memory.
2. With file explorer copy everything under My Documents to your SD card.
3. If you already have a folder named My Documents on your SD card, merge all content in it with the folders you just copied from your main memory and delete it.
4. Backup your entire SD card on your PC's hard drive.
5. Backup the "My Documents" folder on your main memory to your PC's hard drive.
6. With a registy editor go to HKLM\System\StorageManager\Profiles\SDMemory and change the "Folder" key's value to "My Documents"

7. With file explorer delete the My Documents folder on your main memory.
8. Soft Reset

All applications will seamlessly default to "My Documents" which is now your storage card. There is one exception when you first start the camera. It will tell you a new storage card has been found and ask if you want to save pictures and videos to it. Select MAIN MEMORY, it will default to your storage card.

NOTE: I take no credit for this tweak, I came across it on InspectMyGadget

sorry for cut n pasting the whole post here,
anyone know how to make this one work it seems like a great idea, but i can not get it to work for me. just keeps reverting back to its regular my documents location.
i have let it set fo a few prior to soft resetingto give the reg time to change did not work.

Re: Reg tweaks [07/15/2007 rev.2]

I've searched for two days, looking for registry tweaks to
1) area code
2) Display the clock on the title bar in all programs (I know there is a check box but wanted the registry entry)
3) set homepage
4) set camera review time to no review
5) remove the sliding sound

yes, I know how to do it all manually but wanted the registry tweaks to use with the new kitchen...

finally is there any way to get the signature in? I've searched through the registry several times, I can't figure out where that is stored...

Thanks!
