4-Change Operator name

HKLM\System\State\Phone\Current Operator Name

turn off the phone, wait 30 sec. and soft reset ?
I tried doing this as well and still was not able to change this. This is not very important to me but I'm damn near OCD. When I fixate on something I have to figure it out.

I tried changing this and power cycling it immediately afterwards. When it first came on the operator was "Home." There must be some sort of "checksum" where the operator verifies with another string what it should be. Is this possible or has someone figured out a way to change this yet?

EDIT: After screwing with this a bit, mine now says "Home". Not sure how I did that, lol.

Enter it, and you will be brought into the provisioning of your phone. From the top left, select Modem Settings. On this page, your Slot Cycle Index (SCI) is how often your phone polls the tower for incoming calls, etc. This value is 1.28 seconds multiplied by 2^value (i.e 0=1.28 secs, 1=2.56secs) with 0 fastest, 7 slowest. The default is 2, but lowering it to 1 hasn't noticeably affected my battery life, and roughly 2.5 second (SCI 1) response time is far more reasonable than roughly 5 seconds (SCI 2)

How would this be done on the alltel 6800?

I just did this on my Alltel 6800. I used the keyboard and hit the function lock. Dial ##778 and pushed talk on the touch screen. Choose edit and "000000" and "ok" will unlock it. On the bottom left choose "view info" and select "modem settings". Highlight Slot Cycle Index and tap Menu on the bottom right. Choose edit and change the setting. Make sure you to select menu again and hit "ok". It will ask you if you want to keep the settings (or something like that) and will reset. You're done.

The Mogul terminates data connections 10 minutes after it's been idle. If you have multiple apps requesting data in the background such as email checking, weather etc...your phone ends up having an idle connection all day long. This registry tweak overides the default timeout and allows you to set your own delay, in my case I set it to 30 seconds...

HKLM/Comm/ConnMgr/Planner/Settings/CacheTime
Change 600 to whatever value you want in seconds

HKLM/Comm/ConnMgr/Planner/Settings/SuspendResume
Whatever value you have in there (I had #777), change to:
#777_bye_if_device_off

Soft reset and enjoy

Does this work? anyone? i need a setting to change the data lenght cause it stays connected allllllllllllllll day...

FUNCTION: Convert your SD Card into the "My Documents" folder for seamless operation with WM6

WARNING: Messing with the registry can cause unintended and permanent damage.

I have been using this tweak for some time now and it's a real gem if you're the type of person who likes everything on his/her SD card. I'm not quite sure how to explain this so if you try it and have a better explanation, please add your comments.

The Windows default "My Documents" location is on the device's main memory. When you choose to store or sync files to an SD card, Windows creates another My Documents folder and sub folders on the storage card. An example of this is when you set your camera to save pictures and videos to SD. The problem is that WM6's "My Documents" default location always remains on main memory when saving or opening files. This tweak basically makes everything go to or from the SD card by default, unless you choose a different location when saving or opening files.

There are two ways to change this, but first a word of caution. After this tweak you will no longer have a "Storage Card" location, it will be known as "My Documents" from now on. For example here is what a CAB install looks like:

For an example of advantages, Pictures & Videos (or any other application) opens straight to the SD card. Also notice my file explorer no longer shows a "Storage Card", it's actually the "My Documents" folder:

-------------------------------------------------

Tweak from a fresh rom install or hard reset (preferred method)

1. With file explorer copy everything under My Documents to your SD card.
2. If you already have a folder named My Documents on your SD card, merge all content in it with the folders you just copied from your main memory and delete it.
3. Backup your entire SD card on your PC's hard drive.
4. Backup the "My Documents" folder on your main memory to your PC's hard drive.
5. With a registry editor go to HKLM\System\StorageManager\Profiles\SDMemory and change the "Folder" key's value to "My Documents"

6. With file explorer delete the My Documents folder on your main memory.
7. Soft Reset

All applications will seamlessly default to "My Documents" which is now your storage card. There is one exception when you first start the camera. It will tell you a new storage card has been found and ask if you want to save pictures and videos to it. Select MAIN MEMORY, it will default to your storage card.

-------------------------------------------------

Tweak from an existing installation (more risky)

1. Configure all applications which allowed you to set file saving to the storage card (camera, email attachments etc) back to main memory.
2. With file explorer copy everything under My Documents to your SD card.
3. If you already have a folder named My Documents on your SD card, merge all content in it with the folders you just copied from your main memory and delete it.
4. Backup your entire SD card on your PC's hard drive.
5. Backup the "My Documents" folder on your main memory to your PC's hard drive.
6. With a registy editor go to HKLM\System\StorageManager\Profiles\SDMemory and change the "Folder" key's value to "My Documents"

7. With file explorer delete the My Documents folder on your main memory.
8. Soft Reset

All applications will seamlessly default to "My Documents" which is now your storage card. There is one exception when you first start the camera. It will tell you a new storage card has been found and ask if you want to save pictures and videos to it. Select MAIN MEMORY, it will default to your storage card.

NOTE: I take no credit for this tweak, I came across it on InspectMyGadget

Is there any way I can make an executable registry entry? For example I type it up and the click the file and it automatically changes the entry. I want to do this to save time the next time I format. I also have 5 friends with this device, this would save me TONS of time when setting them up.

Thanks
Lonzo

Use Mortscript to do this

Just type **Example**

RegWriteDword ("HKLM", "System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\Timeouts", "BattSuspendTimeout",0)

▲The Location of the registry that you want to change, and the vaue (0 in this case)
