Re: Need some help
If you can flash via usb by putting the phone into the bootloader then it is not bricked!!
Try downloading the latest official Alltel wm 6.1 rom Link http://www.htc.com/us/SupportDownloa...at=2&dl_id=114 Charge the phone so it has a good charge. Turn the phone off hold the camera button and power button down and then push the reset button. This may take several tries till u get the tri colored screen with text on it. If you cant get it to work that way take the battery out completely and then hold the power button down + camera and insert the battery while holding those buttons down that will 100% all the time put the phone into the bootloader. Hook up the phone with the usb cable to your pc while in the tri color bootloader mode. Download the rom from the above link run the exe file. Hook up the phone with the usb cable to your pc while in the tri color bootloader mode. Don't worry about the nag screens telling you u need to have an active sync connection skip through all those screens till you get to the flashing part. Click and start the flashing process this will be just like a hard reset but will replace the rom image on the phone first. so if anything was messed up in the rom or from a bad flash this will fix it. Wait for the file to reboot your phone and follow the steps on the phone screen to finish up. |

Direct link will not ask questions. LOL BTW bricked means the phone will not do anything and is essntialy a brick. examples of a bricked phone. Phone will not power on with a fresh battery. Phone stays off and does not respond to any keypress. When phone has a good battery and hooked up to charger or to pc the phone has a red light that does not change to orange after time. |

Re: Need some help
Thanks for the help gator2k83 ...and yeah I was a little over zealous with the term I used, but I was a little tired of f'ing with it anymore and wanted to treat it like a brick.
I coulnd't get pa-s-s-ed the code lock screen so no USB connection. Nothing worked, no charging (no lights lit up at all), no sliding the keyboard, no touch screen, none of the keys on the keyboard responded absolutely nothing; just boot-up to the lock code screen and freeze there. I just ended up doing a manual hard reset. hold both soft keys and hit the reset button on the button...worked like a charm. Last edited by hammondfra; 12-28-2008 at 10:52 AM. |
