Just FYI the black dialer would not display contact info when the incoming call screen shows up. the second one worked just fine though.

Try using a program called Advanced Configuration Tool. when you install it, enable phone skinning. then soft reset your phone and try to install the dialer again.
BTW you need .net framework 3.5 to use the configuration tool!
