Re: Edvo Vs G3
Yep. Verizon and Sprint have started really putting the "3G" out there since the iPhone 3G came out people are thing 3G is the best network when in reality EVDO is just as fast as not faster. I used my friends iPhone and his 3G on AT&T was wack compared to Verizon's EVDO...

Re: Edvo Vs G3
LOL yeah I was wondering how long it would take for this to pop out.
3G = third generation - for sprint that is... 1G == Analog - pre 2000 2G == Digital 1x - 2000 or so 3G = EVDO - 2004/5 3.1G = EVDO rev A ![]()

Re: Edvo Vs G3
actually, when you want to be specific.. rev A is a good deal faster than 3g.. to put it into contex.. 3g peaks at about 1.7 mbps for downloading a second and about .7 mbps for uploads.. while rev A downloads at 3.2 mbps and up loads at 1.9 mbps.. so yeah.. that so called 3G isnt as fast as the world thinks it is compared to sprint aka the fastest and largest mobile broadband network

Re: Edvo Vs G3
AT&T's 3.1G is HSUPA (High Speed Uplink Packet Access). It is the EVDO Rev A equivalent. Both HSUPA and Rev A give faster uploading speeds with small improvements in downloading speeds over HSDPA or Rev 0, respectively. The iphone 3G, AFAIK, is HSDPA, which gives nice downloading speeds but molasses-like uploads.
