Re: What are the must haves for vx6800?

Check this out then...

Just copy the .cab file to you device or storage card and open and install the file to the device.

Re: What are the must haves for vx6800?

What is the advantage to a cooked rom...outside of gps and tethering? I am using the stock rom but I'd happily try out a cooked rom if it offered better stability or better battery life or something like that.

I know a lot of people do it for the gps, but now that can be accomplished with the stock rom. And I wont use tethering b/c I dont have a data plan.

Hopefully this isnt a dumb question. I'd like to hear what you think so I can decide if I should follow suit.

Re: What are the must haves for vx6800?

A radio update can improve battery life... And it does help with GPS.. Upgrading the Radio can also improve stability... It was a good question.. It's better to ask then to not know...

Re: What are the must haves for vx6800?

What about Mintdub's question about tethering (or Wifi tethering). I had a seen a similar question on another posting and tried WifiRouter and Internet Sharing but could not get them to work. (phone said Wifi was on, but when I searched from the PC, it connected and then disconnected).

Answering Mintdub's question will also answer mine .

I got my tethering to work right away... i just turned internet sharing on. and plugged it into my laptop. and it worked great... Wifirouter worked aswell... sounds like a setting isnt right.. im still a newbie to the tethering so maybe a more knowledgable member can help you.

Re: What are the must haves for vx6800?

I'd certainly appreciate it (and sorry to hijack your post).

I have a stock VZW ROM (upgraded to WM 6.1) and then installed the GPS rom and Valhalla Legends GPSServer.cab.

Then installed ICSInstall.CAB and WMWifiRouter.CAB... When I opened Internet Sharing, my choices are USB and Bluetooth. When I opened WifiRouter, it goes online, and says it's working.

I Can see the phone from my laptop, but when I try to connect it flips back to the regular Wifi connection (testing here in my house with wireless) and then won't lock in.

Is there a sharing setting that I'm missing?

Re: What are the must haves for vx6800?

Oh... and should Internet Sharing and WifiRouter be on the device or is a Storage Card OK?
