Re: What are the must haves for vx6800?
What is the advantage to a cooked rom...outside of gps and tethering? I am using the stock rom but I'd happily try out a cooked rom if it offered better stability or better battery life or something like that.
I know a lot of people do it for the gps, but now that can be accomplished with the stock rom. And I wont use tethering b/c I dont have a data plan. Hopefully this isnt a dumb question. I'd like to hear what you think so I can decide if I should follow suit. |

A radio update can improve battery life... And it does help with GPS.. Upgrading the Radio can also improve stability... It was a good question.. It's better to ask then to not know...

Re: What are the must haves for vx6800?
What about Mintdub's question about tethering (or Wifi tethering). I had a seen a similar question on another posting and tried WifiRouter and Internet Sharing but could not get them to work. (phone said Wifi was on, but when I searched from the PC, it connected and then disconnected).
Answering Mintdub's question will also answer mine . |

Re: What are the must haves for vx6800?
I'd certainly appreciate it (and sorry to hijack your post).
I have a stock VZW ROM (upgraded to WM 6.1) and then installed the GPS rom and Valhalla Legends GPSServer.cab. Then installed ICSInstall.CAB and WMWifiRouter.CAB... When I opened Internet Sharing, my choices are USB and Bluetooth. When I opened WifiRouter, it goes online, and says it's working. I Can see the phone from my laptop, but when I try to connect it flips back to the regular Wifi connection (testing here in my house with wireless) and then won't lock in. Is there a sharing setting that I'm missing? |
