Use Triangle Power's PPC-6800 Hacks tool
It was created by Blade2032 and performs simple registry hacks for you. Just check a box or enter a value for the selected item. It does things like change scroll bar size and even allows you to disable "Sent Message" notifications.  Just download the file, erase the .zip extension on the file, sync the file to your Mogul, install it on your device, and then open the program and make the changes you want.

If you flash your ROM to the latest windows mobile 6.1 it threads the sms and doesn't do the "Sent Message" notifications.

Next time use spell check first and try using Advanced Configuration Tool to disable the text if that other software doesnt help/work.
