Re: The Last Stand (Force a Mogul Recall)
I must concur with others that I have been a mogul owner for 13 months and this is still the original mogul I bought directly from the Sprint store when it came out. No white dots, no keyboard problems, and browser is an easy fix by loading Opera. Since DCD's 3.3.4 release, I'm still in HTC Bliss!

Although they can't always put you in a new phone or give you anything you want of course. There are factors to consider. Usually it's just sprint people that say it's HTC's problem... sure you don't work for sprint? lol j/k Anyhow, if you bought the phone from a Sprint authorized person then you can get the TEP and if you happen to notice any problems then Sprint "Should" replace it. Sprint apparently factors in about $200 of any phone's cost into the 2 year contract... (judging by the rebates for signing contract and "free" phones they give for contract) Sprint also gets $168 over the 2 year contract for your "defective equipment protection, etc" under the umbrella of TEP. So there they have just made $368 dollars... + however much you bought the phone from them. I wonder how much the phones cost for Sprint at wholesale. Interesting though, that when there is an issue they point to HTC...or what seems to border on insurance fraud, they point us to Asurion. Looking at my bill: Total Equipment Protection $3 insurance premium & $4 service/repair Regardless of how they represent or misrepresent it, I think they can play their game however they want as long as people get what they pay for...and that to me, means getting a device that doesn't have defects unless those defects are listed in a disclaimer..or minimally reimbursed something if necessary. Otherwise Sprint will become like a used-car lot, everything sold "as-is", and don't dare trust the salesman.

What's in a name? That which we call a genius by any other name would be just as smart. I beat up Sprint and all I have to show for it is this lousy When you were in diapers and wetting the sheets I was out hacking with the ppcgeeks. Last edited by Raging Idiot; 11-12-2008 at 02:33 PM. |

News for you... Just the facts maam.. There are plenty of people and entities that have their hands in the QC process...and of course Sprint is one of them.. from that sprint employee search link: "Serves as the central resource with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing as the product(s) move to completion and distribution" |

I clicked the link and wow. The numbers dont lie. Those who think you get great service from sprint are the exception. The tech who is posting praise about Sprint and blaiming customers might as well start looking for a new job. If you do a three year comparison of stock Sprint has been in a three year dive and even under a new CEO it is still dropping. |

Re: The Last Stand (Force a Mogul Recall)
i have the touch pro and it does have some problems, but nothing that would make me trade it for another device. just like when i had my mogul. i know this may sound strange coming from someone who doesn't work for the wireless companies, but did you not notice all of these issues within the 30 days of having the phone. i'm not saying that everyones issues are made up, and some do have legitimate reasons for having the phone swapped, but most of the time people are trying to get out of paying for the upgrade by getting on forums like and finding known issues and yaking a perfectly good mogul in trying to get an upgrade. for those of us who truly had issues it makes it harder to get a working phone. i lucked up and got a rep who understood my problems and got me out of mine, but i do feel bad for the ones who have these issues and not just wanting a phone because it is the nxt new thing

Re: The Last Stand (Force a Mogul Recall)
yeah, you're showing you haven't read the thread, but that's ok, its over a hundred posts! lol... anyhow, just remember before you post, that if you think you might be stepping on toes to first read everything or say nothing. Otherwise it taints the thread with misinformation or misguided speculation. No big deal really, honestly I had the same suspicions as you early on. I did know of course that they would have another comparible phone soon enough, and it was just a matter of holding out with the problems until that time...because I don't think Sprint would so easily just give me my money back. For a quick recap, some problems like the white blotches on the screen developed over a period of months, and seems to be dependent on how hot it gets internally.

Re: The Last Stand (Force a Mogul Recall)
I don't understand why all of these people who love their Mogul come here. Not only that, I don't see any of you starting threads exclaiming how much you like it, I just see you here being annoying.
It seems some people got lucky, and their Moguls work. But there are plenty of people who have been through 2,3,4,5 and more. I mean honestly, do you think we're just throwing these things out of moving vehicles? Most people paid a good price for these phones, so I imagine most people take care of them pretty decently. And for them to constantly stop working, and make you jump through hoops to get one? Unexcusable if you ask me. Not to mention, and I think we can all agree, the Techs who repair/look at the phones stand around and do nothing for long periods of time before even glancing at our phones. Raging Idiot, how'd you get your Pro, I thought they were on backorder? |
