Re: The Last Stand (Force a Mogul Recall)

I am on my 6th mogul in a year or so. Took 4th in 2 weeks ago because vibrate stopped working. Got the refurbished phone and it was worse then the other. Same software and everything, kept locking up, touch screen would stop working. Took it back 2 days later only to be told nothing wrong with phone, must be my software. WRONG! I work in computers everyday and same software on same platform does not start having problems. Even tried stock rom with same results. Sprint tech said I will order you another phone to appease you. Then he said I will order you a new phone as a replacement. Guess what, same software works great on new phone. I dont have while spots yet, but have seen them on my other moguls. Just my 2 cents worth.

Ha! I just noticed my phone had white spots today after reading the instructions posted in this thread (open up a new blank Note, lower left corner). My Today screen is all black so I've never noticed it before. Now I'll always see it when I use IE. You bastards

Re: The Last Stand (Force a Mogul Recall)

Yep..as long as you keep bringing it back and replacing them then you'll eventually get the TouchPro upgrade.

If you get a satisfactory Mogul as a replacement on the first go around then great...maybe it's bought you some time. but what I'm hearing is still in line with the overwhelming vast majority of replacements coming back as defective...what a waste of time and an annoying hassle.

I guess that's why they are now upgrading phones for those that had been through the replacement game a couple of times.
The problem is that enough people are complacent with the defects that it doesn't make good business sense for Sprint to use any quality control on the refurbs. Basically, they just let you decide if you can handle it.
Not picking on Sprint here, as it probably applies to most or all carriers.

I am no master qwerty user but I know where the keys are which allows me to type at a decent speed and the keyboard lag has me guessing if its gonna pick it up or not. That was my moguls(plural) straight out of the box. The lock ups are rediculous. I have had to reset all the moguls at least 3 times a day because something decides it doesn't want to work properly. I like my mogul when it works
So if you don't believe me then I guess you're implying that every Mogul will eventually have white spots and keyboard issues. Whatever. I originally replied to the OP's statement that 98% of Mogul owners have white spot issues. I asked where that number came from. Still haven't got an aswer. Are white spots a problem? Yes. For everyone? No. How many people have them? I have no idea but I'd bet the farm it's not 98%.

As for my definition of heavy use, well I'll admit I don't use my Mogul that much for phone calls, only about 200 minutes a month, but I send about 1500 texts a month, 500 emails a month, and surf the web about an hour every day. I also use Word everyday, not to mention listening to Mp3s, GPS, etc...

I think this thread has gotten a little out of hand. There's no point in arguing.

Re: The Last Stand (Force a Mogul Recall)

No recall needed... if you have problems just get a new phone.

My mogul is banged up, scratched, dented, the stylus doesn't stay put, the screen is scratched and dirty, one of the buttons doesn't work, the leather case is frayed and totally falling apart, my cradle fell from my desk and one of the plastic pieces is cracked... etc.
And it is still the best phone I've owned.

If I have white spots... who cares... I probably couldn't even tell if I tried!

But in all seriousness, a recall is NOT going to happen so no use beating a dead horse.

"But in all seriousness, a recall is NOT going to happen so no use beating a dead horse."

That's correct, I think I stated that a few times here there and in the first post. Not the exact words but the same concept. I think some people are just skimming the thread, and who could blame them at 7 pages, but the concept is that as long as those that are bothered with the problems keep replacing them then their problems will get solved one way or another...and more than likely it will eventually lead to an upgrade.
Isn't a "recall" by any other name just as sweet...

Yup, I'm guilty... didn't read the entire thread.

The Mogul can be a total headache sometimes, but just at least for me, it is really totally indispensable to me.

Did I mention that my mogul also smells...

Re: The Last Stand (Force a Mogul Recall)

Well, I'm totally with the Raging Idiot on this.

The way that I see it, if you own a Mogul, you're more than likely SOME what tech savvy. And that being the case, someone who has an understanding of technology would agree, that the Mogul does not perform the way it should/is advertised. Granted the device works after loads of modding and tweaking, but shouldn't it work just as well out of the box?

And the white spot? I also agree with the Idiot. This is a problem inherent in every device, regardless if you've witnessed it or not. It's all just a matter of time. I'm on my 3rd one, this one was NIB just 2 weeks ago and am already starting to see it. Sure, it's not a major problem, but it's a problem none the less. And at top dollar, it should LOOK like top dollar. (Not to mention perform.)

To the nay sayers: speak your bit, and move on.
