How do I delete a hotmail account

My hotmail wont sync so I want to just delete the account off my phone how do I do this? When I go to start\programs\messaging\menu\options and than press and hold the account I want to delete a delete option pops up but I cant get it to do it?

Did you know you have to pay M$ about $20 a year to POP your mail?

But for me if I go to Start -> Programs -> Inbox -> Menu -> Delete it works fine
