Re: SanDisk 16GB Micro SDHC Cards

Are there any caveats to transferring data to the new larger SD card? Just use explorer from active sync and transfer back and forth from desktop?

Re: 16Gb SDHC MicroSD cards?

Er, I didn't know there were different classes to these cards. What's the best class to get? What's the slowest class?

Re: SanDisk 16GB Micro SDHC Cards

Anybody else remember the old DEC 8K core memory PCBs? For those too young to know, they were about 12 x 15 inches and weighed about 5 lbs each. Had four of them in the first CT scanner I used to maintain. You young'uns can't really comprehend how far we have come!

ActiveSync will take a painfully long time filling up a 16 gig card while in phone. I've found with my 8 gig card that using a USB adaptor makes transfers go 12 to 15 times faster! So, if I'm just moving a few new songs to the card, I leave it in phone. But when I get my 16 gigger, I'll be putting about 14 gigs of music on it before it ever goes into the phone. I'm currently re-organizing directory structure so songs, playlists, and folders are more efficiently navigated, based on how my player, PocketMusic, functions now with 8 gig card in anticipation of 16 gig so as to avoid potential slow downs.

You can find USB adaptors at lots of places. Got mine at Office Depot several months ago, price may be even better now.

Edit - PS: I like this one by Ativa because: (1) When USB plug has cap on, and card door is snapped shut, it's totally consealed from pocket fuzz, so good to carry around. And, (2) it has an LED indicator light so you know which side's up when plugging in, and most importantly, it acts as sort of an idiot light that goes on and off sometimes flashes and helps let you know how your transfer is going along.

Hope this helps, MrG

??? If what you get is in the picture, then you definitely are NOT getting Class 6. See the little circled 4 on the actual card? THAT is your speed rating....

I'm really beginning to hate eBay for things like this....

The best way I have found is just stick the card into a USB 2.0 reader & copy straight to it from my laptop (activesync is WAY too slow for large file transfers)

Re: SanDisk 16GB Micro SDHC Cards

Heck I got 2, 8 gigs , one has my files "cab collection, pc service tools, other interesting installers" the other is a buttload of movies and music. I want to get the 16 but I want the new htc hd too... I can wait for a bit, it will be at best buy soon then I put my employee discount to work!
