Re: opera mobile 8.5 or 9.5 in a Mogul?

Personally speaking, i prefer the opera 8.65 over the 9.5 version. 8.65 never seems to crash on me the way 9.5 does. I wish 9.5 worked well on my mogul, but with the low ram issue, i kinda gave up on it. dschoenike

I have to agree with dschoenike. I used 8.65 for a while and liked it. I then upgraded to 9.5 and loved it until it started giving me memory errors. It is definitely a memory hog. I have been using SkyFire Beta recently and it works well. It doesn't have all the bell and whistles like Opera, but seems to work well and I haven't had a memory error yet.

FWIW,

Re: opera mobile 8.5 or 9.5 in a Mogul?

I have 22 mb but 30 minutes later is 16 mb with all close. Is frustrating.
The Mogul is not a multitasking device. Just one program at time!.
All my errors are low memory. And I have 3 months old pda phone I can't run a new program like opera 9.5, I have to use the old 8.5.
I paid $500 for piece of junk.
I used to have a axim x30 with 64 mb of ram and I have a lot of more ram available for programs.
I am thinking to trade my mogul for a touch, I don't know what to do?

Flash to a more efficient ROM, my Titan with dcd's 3.2.6 runs opera 9.5 with no problem.

I'm running no2chem's nueROM3pre3 with Manilla 2D and Opera 9.5 running right now, and I still have 27mb free RAM

So with that rom and that much free ram, you never get an "out of memory" error with opera 9.5? How much ram are you starting with after a soft-reset? thanks, dschoenike
