Question Syncing Movies (AVIs) To The HTC Titan...having some problems...

I remember when I had the PPC-6700. It took a good little while to sync a movie to it, but after about 2 hours I was ready to go. That was obviously a while ago. I tried putting a movie on my Mogul the other day before I went to work... I start the process 2 hours before I had to leave. I went upstairs with 30 minutes left, and it was only 5% done?

I figure I have to be doing something wrong...or the long way. I was using Windows Media Player to Sync the AVI file, and I had used 'Pocket Divx Encoder' to shrink the movie to the right size for the Titan.

Is there a faster / better way to sync a movie to the titan?!

-Touche'

p.s. I have even tried to drag the file and drop it in the movies folder on my card, but it has NEVER worked. One time I went to run errands for almost 3 hours, and it still hadn't worked...

Use a memory card reader [assuming you're putting it on the MicroSD card]

It is possible that you are syncing to the internal storage, and the phone is out of space, therefore it gets stuck at 5%

That's what I had thought, too...but WMP shows that it's my card that it is 'trying' to Sync to. This sucks... I don't have a card reader, and I don't get paid for like 2 weeks. Ugh...

Thanks for the response, though. I'll have to get a card reader when I can...

or while it is connected open the explore folder to the place you want the video file. then open the folder seperately on the pc drag and drop. takes like 5 mins for a 350mb movie file. but i resize them before i transfer them....... if its already 320x240 shouldndt take more than 5 minutes.

Actually, I don't even know why I didn't think of this before!

You can use nueMassStorage. Once installed, restart your phone. Then go to Start>Settings>Connections>USB to PC. From there, select the 'Mass Storage' option and check 'Appear as removable device'

Then when you plug in your phone to your computer, it will ask you if you want to use it as a storage device. Press yes, and then your computer should show a new flash drive. It is the same thing as a card reader.
Attached Files
File Type: zip NMS.zip (42.2 KB, 23 views) Click for barcode!

Re: Syncing Movies (AVIs) To The HTC Titan...having some problems...

Crap... It doesn't work... It just keeps opening some 'HP Image Transfer Software' thing that asks where to save to. Then, down at the bottom, it says, "No memory card in Image Device." Even though it IS in the bottom of the phone.

After a few tries I just X'ed that out, and went to 'My Computer', but none of the Removable Drives were working at all.

Thanks anyway...

Tried this a few times as well... Every time that I've tried this, my PC just freezes completely.

EDIT: What do you mean by 'then open the folder seperately..." ??

Re: Syncing Movies (AVIs) To The HTC Titan...having some problems...

All I do is RIP the movie to my tower hard drive, then copy it to a folder called "videos" on the card with a reader.

If I didn't have a reader, I would use ActiveSync. I have done it with AS, but it's pretty slow.
